Buffalo Black Powder Horn

This Black Powder Horn is made from a Buffalo horn cap. The large end of the horn is capped with an oak plug and the small end has been scraped down into an octagon shape. The plug is part of the horn that was cut off and also shaped into an octagon and can be removed to pour the black powder. The scrimshaw work on this powder horn is of Buffalo’s on each side. The shoulder strap is made from tweed and fringed on the ends. The strap has two leather pieces to hold it together and have buffalo skull sewn into them to decorate the straps.
