Buffalo Head Black Powder Horn
This black powder horn was handcrafted from a cow horn. The throat of the horn (the small end) was shaped with grooves so the straps will not slide off. It was also scraped down in an octagon shape. Arrowheads are carved all around the horn. Pictures of Indians are scrimshawed on both sides. The large end was plugged with a piece of walnut carved in the shape of a buffalo head. The strap is made from leather. The plug in the small end is a fiddle key. This would make a unique gift ideal for someone.
