Buffalo Head Black Powder Horn

This Black Powder Horn is handcrafted from a steer horn a buffalo horn and hippo tusk. The large end of the powder horn is the steer horn and has scrimshaw art of an adult male Buffalo standing in a field. The other side has the Ohio and Allegheny Rivers scrimshawed on it. The black part of the horn is from a Buffalo that the owner shot and has arrowheads carved around it and octagon shaped the rest of the way. The small white end is made from Hippo tusk that was cut down, shaped and bored through. The plug on the small end is hand carved in the shape of a morel mushroom and is made from mahogany and attached to the leather strap with braided sinew. The large end of the powder horn is made from an expensive piece of Turkish Walnut and is carved in the shape of a Buffalo head.
