McCracken's Raccoon and Squirrel Black Powder Horn

This Black Powder Horns has scrimshawed on one side some writing in Old English script and underneath it is an oak tree branch with oak leaves and acorns attached to it. The other side has scrimshaw art of a Raccoon coming down off the side of the tree on to a branch where there is a squirrel holding an acorn. The small end or the throat of the powder horn has a belt loop design in it that the strap weaves in and out of. The plug on the small end is shaped to resemble a morel mushroom and is attached to the shoulder strap with imitation braided sinew. The large end is plugged with a piece of Turkish walnut and dowel rods to decorate. This end has a plug that is in the shape of an acorn. The strap on the large end is connected to the horn with a flattened nail as they used back in the day.
