The dance stick is 36" long. The stick itself is a small maple sapling that had been wrapped by a wild grape vine which left the spiral shape in the stick. On the front of the dance stick is a beaver skull which came from the creek I grew up on. Behind and touching the skull is a piece of Black bear fur which came from McDonald, Pennsylvania. Directly behind the bear fur is deer leather lacing with wooden beads and turkey feathers hang from it. The next piece added to the stick is a piece of North American Bison fur which came from a buffalo ranch in Aberdeen, Ohio. Just behind the bison fur is a piece of natural tanned deer hide fringed at one end and attached with artificial sinew. At the small end of the stick are five deer toes which came from Marshall Co., WV. They are also attached with artificial sinew and they make a nice rattle sound when dancing with the stick. The dance stick is used by Native Americans when dancing in a circle at Gatherings or pow-wows.
